Transosseous Academy – WHY?

The Transosseous Academy (TA) is a non-profit organization whose purpose is to promote, support, and stimulate scientific research, innovation and the sharing of knowledge concerning transosseous surgical techniques. The TA was created to support the scientific and technical aspects of the transosseous approach by collecting and encouraging research related to all aspects of this approach.

The TA is a unique organization that aims to bring together clinicians, engineers and scientist to create an environment to propose and carryout research leading to better outcomes and patient care. This combination of interests and understandings could provide an optimal way to evaluate how diseases develop and most importantly how the adopted repair techniques work. Bringing together physicians and engineers can create a synergistic effect providing a complete view and analysis of the various problems.

TA is an open society in which any stakeholder can bring his or her own unique contribution to the discussion.
Over time, the evolution of materials and technologies has become one of the key drivers of device evolution. The TA’s role is to better understand how and if these evolutions represent real progress and how to measure and evaluate improvements with a scientific and rigorous approach.
